A Dead Man’s Click.
i) In combat you fail to count down your rounds and your weapon clicks on an empty mag.
ii) Your weapon/round malfunctions…
Either way, you’re dead!
A psychological crime thriller set at the turn of the century tracks the fate of two former Special Forces operatives with a dark past.
Chuck and Charlie are a couple of social misfits struggling to deal with civilian life. On the wrong side of the law, on the wrong side of a murderous criminal cartel and eventually on the wrong side of each other.
They witness a murder and end up with the merchandise and cash from an abandoned drugs deal and think they are in the clear. Charlie ‘goes to the well’ once too often and is caught in possession and remanded in prison. With flak coming at him from all directions – the police, his best and only friend, the judiciary – he is driven to confront his past beliefs and morality whilst a gang of incensed criminals close in on him seeking revenge, forcing his hand.
His oppo, Chuck, unable to shake off a desire gripping him from the past, sets out to protect his friend and their proceeds from the drugs deal gone wrong. He hunts down and confronts the man responsible for their situation, only to find the bridge to his past has widened. He finds he too is not the person he once was and trades honour for greed to his ultimate cost.
What happens in this page turner is their story…

‘In my experience, most people listen with the intent to reply, not understand’. Learn how to change the way you communicate with people for positive results in your everyday life - no matter who you are or what you do.
‘You don’t have to be sick to get better.

From basic training through the insanity of serving in Berlin, tragedy and madness in a troubled Northern Ireland to the full scale in your face brutality of the Falklands war.
Dr Thornborrow draws his audience in to a revealing take on war and combat from naive civilian to willing recruit to warrior to tragedy to epiphany.
